Regular Season Round 42: Huracanes - Gigantes 72-81

Date: February 21, 2015
There was a small surprise in Tampico where tenth ranked Gigantes (19-21) defeated 8th ranked Huracanes (20-20) 81-72. They outrebounded Huracanes 37-25 including a 29-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward John Millsap (198-82, college: UTSA, agency: Interperformances) notched 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and American-British guard Abdul Mills (191-79, college: Nebraska-Omaha) supported him with 14 points and 9 rebounds. Millsap is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Gigantes players scored in double figures. Even 30 points and 8 rebounds by Nigerian-American power forward Suleiman Braimoh (203-89, college: Rice) did not help to save the game for Huracanes. American swingman Ollie Bailey (201-85, college: Oklahoma City) added 19 points and 9 rebounds. Gigantes have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to ninth place. Huracanes at the other side dropped to the sixth position with 20 games lost.
