Very important is a home loss of second ranked Mitsubishi Dolphins (20-11) against fourth ranked Chiba Jets (20-13) on Saturday night. Host Mitsubishi Dolphins were defeated by Chiba Jets in Nagoya 89-76. It was a great shooting night for Chiba Jets especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 62.5 percentage. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Fumio Nishimura (177-86) who scored 24 points and 4 assists. American power forward Rick Rickert (211-83, college: Minnesota) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Chiba Jets' coach used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Brendan Lane (206-90, college: Pepperdine) who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and the former international point guard Takumi Ishizaki (188-84) added 17 points and 7 assists respectively. Five Chiba Jets and four Mitsubishi Dolphins players scored in double figures. They have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Chiba Jets maintains fourth place with 20-13 record.
