Very important is a road loss of third ranked Dragonflies (15-17) against fifth ranked Toyota Alvark (19-14) on Saturday night. Visiting Dragonflies unexpectedly were defeated by in Tokyo 67-80. Toyota Alvark made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. American forward Jeff Gibbs (188-80, college: Otterbein) nailed 26 points and 6 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) for the winning side and the former international forward Daiki Tanaka (191-91) accounted for 14 points. Toyota Alvark's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American power forward Clint Chapman (208-89, college: Texas) came up with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 10 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and Senegalese center Pape Faye (200-87) added 13 points respectively for Dragonflies in the defeat. Toyota Alvark maintains fifth place with 19-14 record. Dragonflies lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keep the third position with 17 games lost. Toyota Alvark will again meet at home higher ranked Dragonflies (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Dragonflies will have a break next round.
