Regular Season Round 37: Gunma - Shinshu BW 88-99

The game in Gunma was also quite interesting. Seventh ranked Shinshu BW (14-19) played at the court of 8th ranked Gunma (12-21). Shinshu BW defeated Gunma 99-88 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Shinshu BW. Gunma was better in second period 24-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Shinshu BW outrebounded Gunma 45-30 including 33 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American forward Patrick Sanders (198-85, college: Cal-Irvine) stepped up and scored 23 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and American-Somalian forward Mohamed Abukar (208-85, college: San Diego St., agency: Two Points) chipped in 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. At the losing side American forward Carlos Dixon (201-81, college: Virginia Tech) responded with 19 points and 6 assists and the other American import power forward Daniel Northern (206-85, college: Tenn Tech, agency: R.H.Consultancy) scored 17 points and 7 rebounds. Four Shinshu BW and five Gunma players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Shinshu BW maintains seventh place with 14-19 record. Loser Gunma keeps the eighth position with 21 games lost. Shinshu BW will have a break next round. Gunma will play again at home against Shinshu BW (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
