Regular Season Round 33: Kumamoto V. - Hokkaido L. 80-83

Fifth-ranked Kumamoto V. (4-28) used its home court advantage to challenge sixth ranked Hokkaido L. (12-24). The visitors from Saporro managed to secure only three-point victory 83-80. However their fans expected easier game. Hokkaido L. made 22-of-26 charity shots (84.6 percent) during the game. American forward Jerome Tillman (201-87, college: Ohio, agency: KMG Sports Management) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import forward Jahmar Thorpe (198-84, college: Houston) chipped in 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Hokkaido L.'s coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The best for the losing side was American swingman Garlon Green (201-91, college: TCU) with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds and Josei Maniwa scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. Four Kumamoto V. players scored in double figures. Hokkaido L. have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain sixth place with 12-24 record. Kumamoto V. lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with 28 games lost. They share it with Wakayama T.. Hokkaido L. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kumamoto V. will play again at home against Hokkaido L. (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
