No shocking result in a game when third ranked Toshiba Thunders (23-10) crushed on the road 5th ranked Wakayama T. (4-28) 87-47 on Saturday. They outrebounded Wakayama T. 55-29 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Toshiba Thunders made 7 blocks. It was a good game for American forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 18 rebounds and 5 blocks. His fellow American import guard Cedric Bozeman (198-83, college: UCLA) contributed with 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Toshiba Thunders' coach felt very confident that he used 10 players saving starting five for next games. American power forward Paul Butorac (208-83, college: E.Washington) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and guard Hiroya Oogane (180-89) added 6 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Wakayama T.The victory was the third consecutive win for Toshiba Thunders. Defending champion maintains third place with 23-10 record having four points less than leader Hitachi SR. Wakayama T. lost their fifteenth game in a row. They keep the fifth position with 28 games lost. Toshiba Thunders will have a break next round. Wakayama T. will play again at home against Toshiba Thunders (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
