Regular Season Round 15: CREF Hola - Segle XXI 66-49

LF2 top team - CREF Hola (14-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they beat seventh ranked Segle XXI (7-8) in Madrid 66-49. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Segle XXI. It looked good early as Segle XXI took a 9-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then CREF Hola had a 21-8 second period charge getting the lead and Segle XXI was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 49-66. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Segle XXI to just 4 points in third quarter. CREF Hola forced 19 Segle XXI turnovers and outrebounded them 42-28 including 27 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Canadian forward Kendel Ross (185-88, college: Dayton) who scored 17 points and 8 rebounds. Jamaican center Tajay Ashmeade (190-89, college: Seton Hall, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Clara Che (172-97) who recorded 11 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and power forward Maria Martianez (187-97) added 8 points respectively. CREF Hola have an impressive series of twelve victories in a row. They maintain first place in Group B with 14-1 record. Segle XXI at the other side keeps the seventh position with eight games lost. CREF Hola's next round opponent will be UCAM Jairis (#11) in Alcantarilla and are hoping to win another game. Segle XXI will play at home against the league's second-placed Alcobendas (#2) and hope to win that game.
