Regular Season Round 33: Aishin SH - Hitachi SR 85-81

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Hitachi Sunrockers (27-7) in Kariya on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Aishin Sea Horses (28-4) 85-81. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Hitachi Sunrockers. Strangely Hitachi Sunrockers outrebounded Aishin Sea Horses 36-24 including 22 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Aishin Sea Horses especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. It was a good game for international swingman Kosuke Kanamaru (193-89) who led his team to a victory with 25 points. American power forward Gavin Edwards (206-88, college: Connecticut) contributed with 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American power forward Joshua Heytvelt (210-86, college: Gonzaga) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and international power forward Joji Takeuchi (207-85, agency: N.E.T.) added 19 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Hitachi Sunrockers. Hitachi Sunrockers' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Aishin Sea Horses maintains first place with 28-4 record which they share with defeated Hitachi Sunrockers. Hitachi Sunrockers at the other side still keep top position with seven games lost. Aishin Sea Horses are again looking forward to face league's leader Hitachi Sunrockers in Tokyo in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Hitachi Sunrockers will have a break next round.
