Regular Season Round 20: Maccabi Rishon - Hapoel T-A 81-73

Date: February 21, 2015
The game in Rishon Le-Zion was also quite interesting. One of their biggest challengers Hapoel Tel-Aviv (11-9) played at the court of sixth ranked Maccabi Rishon (11-9). Maccabi Rishon managed to secure a 8-point victory 81-73 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 8 points. It was a great shooting night for Maccabi Rishon especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. The best player for the winners was international swingman Shawn Dawson (196-93) who scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. The former international Nitzan Hanochi (194-86) chipped in 14 points and 5 assists. American-Jamaican swingman Durand Scott (196-90, college: Miami, FL) produced 20 points and the former international Raviv Limonad (191-84) added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) respectively for the guests. Five Maccabi Rishon and four Hapoel Tel-Aviv players scored in double figures. Maccabi Rishon moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Hapoel T-A. Maccabi Rishon will face bottom-ranked Galil Gilboa (#12) in Rosh Pina in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hapoel Tel-Aviv will play at home against Ironi Nes-Ziona (#7) and hope to win that game.
