No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Real Celta Vigo (9-6) crushed at home 11th ranked Universidad de Valladolid (2-13) 75-44 on Saturday. The game without a history. Real Celta Vigo led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Universidad de Valladolid's 18. Real Celta Vigo forced 19 Universidad de Valladolid turnovers and outrebounded them 42-24 including a 29-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for Mali center Minata Keita (190-89) who led her team to a victory with 20 points and 9 rebounds. Portuguese point guard Ines Faustino (170-92) contributed with 8 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Real Celta Vigo's coach Carlos Colinas felt very confident using 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Center Noelia Pariente (183-96) answered with 4 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and Lourdes Galan (-93) added 11 points in the effort for Universidad de Valladolid. Real Celta Vigo maintains fifth place in Group A with 9-6 record, which they share with Aros Leon. Loser Universidad de Valladolid keeps the eleventh position with 13 games lost. Real Celta Vigo will face higher ranked Cortegada (#4) in Vilagarcia Arousa in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
