There was no surprise when 8th ranked ASEFA Estudiantes (5-10) lost to third ranked Leganes (10-5) in Madrid 66-79 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 38-24 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Leganes forced 21 ASEFA Estudiantes turnovers. It was a good game for Lithuanian power forward Dovile Miliauskaite (187-89, college: Towson, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Paula Justel (187-92) contributed with 8 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Forward Maria Conde (184-97) answered with 14 points and 7 rebounds and forward Teresa Lopez Perez (180-96) added 11 points and 4 assists in the effort for ASEFA Estudiantes. Four ASEFA Estudiantes players scored in double figures. ASEFA Estudiantes' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the third consecutive win for Leganes. Despite that victory Leganes went down to fourth position (Group B) due to points difference, which they share with Dist.Olimpico. Loser ASEFA Estudiantes keeps the eighth place with ten games lost. Leganes will face Almeria (#12) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. ASEFA Estudiantes will play against C.Adelantados (#10) in San Cristobal and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
