Regular Season Round 19: Gran Canaria - Conquero 60-75

Very expected game when 10th ranked Gran Canaria (6-13) lost to third ranked Conquero (16-3) in Las Palmas 60-75. The game was mostly controlled by Conquero. Gran Canaria was better in second period 20-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American forward Adaora Elonu (185-90, college: Texas A&M, agency: Josep and Nicolas) fired 20 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Her fellow American import swingman Aja Parham (183-84, college: Boston Coll.) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds. American forward Samarie Walker (185, college: Kentucky) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 16 rebounds and guard Iris Junio (185-99) added 16 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals respectively for lost side. Gran Canaria's coach Fermin Bosa tested ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Conquero moved-up to second place, which they share with Girona. Gran Canaria lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the eleventh position with 13 games lost. Conquero's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Campus Promete (#14) in Logrono which should be an easy win for them. Gran Canaria will play on the road against Socinsa Bembibre and hope to win that game.
