Regular Season Round 19: Rivas Ecopolis - Girona 83-78

LFB round 19 caused change at the leadership position. Third defeat of league's leader Argon Uni Girona (16-3) against seventh ranked Rivas Ecopolis (9-10) 83-78 was the most important game of the last round. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 19-12. But Argon Uni Girona won second period 22-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Angela Salvadores (178-97) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 4 assists. American forward Lyndra Weaver (185-87, college: Virginia, agency: Regeneracom Sports) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Nigerian-American Ify Ibekwe (187-89, college: Arizona, agency: LBM Management) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Noemi Jordana (173-80) added 12 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Argon Uni Girona. Four Rivas Ecopolis and five Argon Uni Girona players scored in double figures. Rivas Ecopolis have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion maintains seventh place with 9-10 record. Argon Uni Girona at the other side dropped to the second position with three games lost. They share it with Conquero. They were replaced at the leadership position by Perfumerias. Argon Uni Girona will play next round against Gernika trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Rivas Ecopolis will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Cadi La Seu in Seu D'urgell.
