Regular Season Round 15: Meteors - DCU Mercy 70-75

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Dublin: DCU Mercy (#4) and Meteors (#5). Meteors were defeated at home 70-75 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Meteors. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Sarah Woods (174-88) who scored 29 points and 6 assists. Point guard Sarah McGrath (165-88) chipped in 16 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American Katie Ganser (186-90, college: Merrimack) who recorded 19 points and 5 rebounds and Beth Meany (168-90) added 9 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. DCU Mercy (9-4) moved-up to second place. Meteors at the other side keep the fifth position with seven games lost. DCU Mercy are looking forward to face Liffey Celtics (#4) in Kildare in the next round. Meteors will play on the road against Brunell in Cork and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
