Regular Season Round 25: Mitsubishi K. - JX-Eneos S. 46-69

WJBL top team - JX-Eneos S. (20-3) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed sixth ranked Mitsubishi K. (14-9) in Nagoya 69-46. The game was mostly controlled by JX-Eneos S.. Mitsubishi K. was better in third quarter 14-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Mitsubishi K. 42-31 including 29 on the defensive glass. JX-Eneos S. brought some defensive toughness making 11 blocks. The former international forward Yuka Mamiya (185-90) nailed a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side and the former international power forward Ramu Tokashiki (191-91) accounted for 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks. Four JX-Eneos S. players scored in double figures. International center Chao Asako (189-87) came up with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds and international swingman Aya Watanabe (170-92) added 17 points respectively for Mitsubishi K. in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. JX-Eneos S. have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 20-3 record. Mitsubishi K. at the other side keeps the sixth position with nine games lost. JX-Eneos S. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Mitsubishi K. will play again at home against the league's leader JX-Eneos S. (#1) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
