Regular Season Round 18: Belfast Star - Templeogue 65-67

The most exciting game of round 18 in the Premier League took place in Belfast. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 8th ranked Belfast Star (4-11) to fifth ranked Templeogue (8-7) 67-65 on Sunday evening. Templeogue dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Belfast Star's 22. They outrebounded Belfast Star 51-32 including a 36-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was the former international center Jason Killeen (211-85, college: GRU) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 21 rebounds. American guard Isaac Gordon (196-88, college: UTEP) chipped in 17 points and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Ricky Taylor (195-89, college: Chattanooga) who recorded 18 points and 9 rebounds and Conor Johnston (-90) added 23 points respectively. Belfast Star's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Templeogue moved-up to fourth place. Belfast Star at the other side keeps the eighth position with 11 games lost. They share it with UL Eagles. Templeogue's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Dublin to the arena Dublin Inter.
