Regular Season Round 26: Haneda Vickies - Denso Iris 62-72

Bottom-ranked Haneda Vickies (0-26) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 72-62 loss to third ranked Denso Iris (18-6) in Tokyo on Sunday evening. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 10-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 72-62. The former international power forward Maki Takada (183-89) scored 13 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the former international forward Yuri Ushida (181-89) chipped in 17 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Denso Iris' coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Swingman Masaru Honda (175-89) responded with 13 points and 5 rebounds and forward Yuki Morimoto (177-84) scored 10 points and 7 rebounds. Four Denso Iris and five Haneda Vickies players scored in double figures. Denso Iris have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 18-6 record having just three points less than leader JX-Eneos S., which they share with Toyota A. Loser Haneda Vickies still closes the standings. Denso Iris will meet league's leader JX-Eneos S. in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Haneda Vickies will play against the league's second-placed Fujitsu RW (#2) and hope to get finally their first victory.
