There was a minor upset when 6th ranked Kumamoto V. (4-29) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Hokkaido L. (13-24) 78-70 on Sunday. Strangely Kumamoto V. outrebounded Hokkaido L. 39-23 including 16 on the offensive glass. American forward Jerome Tillman (201-87, college: Ohio, agency: KMG Sports Management) scored 23 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international center Fumihiko Aono (210-78) chipped in 10 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American center Josh Warren (206-88, college: Troy) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds and his fellow American import swingman Garlon Green (201-91, college: TCU) scored 16 points and 9 rebounds. Five Kumamoto V. players scored in double figures. Kumamoto V.'s coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Hokkaido L. have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position with 13-24 record. Kumamoto V. lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth place with 29 games lost. Hokkaido L. will face higher ranked Hyogo S. (#4) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Kumamoto V. will play against Toshiba Thunders in Kanagawa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
