Regular Season Round 34: Aishin SH - Hitachi SR 74-84

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Aishin Sea Horses (28-5) in Kariya on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by Hitachi Sunrockers (28-7) 84-74. It was a key game for the top position in the league. American power forward Joshua Heytvelt (210-86, college: Gonzaga) had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and international power forward Joji Takeuchi (207-85, agency: N.E.T.) chipped in 14 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side international swingman Kosuke Kanamaru (193-89) responded with 25 points and swingman Shuhei Kitagawa (185-85) scored 19 points. Five Hitachi Sunrockers and four Aishin Sea Horses players scored in double figures. Hitachi Sunrockers maintains first position with 28-7 record which they share with defeated Aishin Sea Horses. Aishin Sea Horses at the other side still keep top place with five games lost. Hitachi Sunrockers are looking forward to face Dragonflies (#3) in Hiroshima in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Aishin Sea Horses will play on the road against Chiba Jets and are hoping to win this game.
