The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Ironi Kiryat Ata (14-5) on the court of twelfth ranked Hapoel Kfar Saba on Tuesday night. Visitors were defeated by Hapoel Kfar Saba 82-77. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Ironi Kiryat Ata. The hosts trailed by 8 points after three quarters before their 25-12 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Vernon Teel (193-87, college: Loyola Mary) who helped to win the game recording 33 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds. His fellow American import center DeAngelo Riley (206-88, college: Azusa Pacific) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 13 rebounds and 5 blocks for the winners. Four Hapoel Kfar Saba players scored in double figures. American power forward Dallis Joyner (203-90, college: Stony Brook) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Guy Dotan (178-91) added 13 points and 5 assists in the effort for Ironi Kiryat Ata. Hapoel Kfar Saba (7-12) moved-up to eleventh place. Ironi Kiryat Ata at the other side still keeps top position with five games lost. They share it with Maccabi K/G. Hapoel Kfar Saba are looking forward to face Hasharon (#12) in Ramat Hasharon in the next round. Ironi Kiryat Ata will play at home against Hapoel Afula (#5) and is hoping to win this game.
