The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Cocodrilos (4-1) in Caracas on Tuesday night. Hosts were defeated by Guaiqueries (4-1) 81-72. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Cocodrilos. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The guests trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 12-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 81-72. Guaiqueries outrebounded Cocodrilos 46-34 including 31 on the defensive glass. 25 personal fouls committed by Cocodrilos helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was the former international center Richard Lugo (209-73, college: St.Francis, NY) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds.
