Regular Season Round 19: Maccabi K/G - Ramat Hasharon 84-81

Eleventh-ranked Hasharon (6-13) was very close to win a game against third ranked Maccabi K/G (14-5) in Kiryat Gat on Tuesday. Maccabi K/G managed to secure only three-point victory 84-81. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Hasharon won third quarter 25-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Maccabi K/G forced 19 Hasharon turnovers. Strangely Hasharon outrebounded Maccabi K/G 36-24 including 28 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for swingman Elad Hofman (192-85) who led the winners and scored 16 points and 6 assists. American forward Terrence Watson (200-87, college: Ball St.) accounted for 12 points and 7 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Four Maccabi K/G players scored in double figures. American forward Lorenzo Gordon (201-83, college: Oklahoma City) came up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and the other American import guard Martin Samarco (190-85, college: Bowling Green) added 23 points respectively for Hasharon in the defeat. Maccabi K/G used an opportunity after Ironi K-A lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Loser Hasharon dropped to the twelfth place with 13 games lost. Maccabi K/G will again meet Hasharon (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hasharon will play against Hapoel Kfar Saba and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
