Important game to mention about took place in Bydgoszcz. Twelfth ranked Astoria Bydg. (7-14) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 10th ranked GKS Tychy (7-14) 74-71 in the game for the tenth place. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But GKS Tychy won third quarter 26-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Astoria Bydg. forced 22 GKS Tychy turnovers and outrebounded them 39-23 including 16 on the offensive glass. GKS Tychy was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Tomasz Prostak (188-88) nailed 28 points and 4 assists for the winning side and Dorian Szyttenholm (193-83, agency: Promotex) accounted for 8 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Marcin Dymala (188-90) came up with 16 points, 6 assists and 4 steals and power forward Tomasz Deja (200-83) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively for GKS Tychy in the defeat. Four GKS Tychy players scored in double figures. GKS Tychy's coach Tomasz Jagielka tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Astoria Bydg. moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Pogon Prudnik and GKS Tychy. Astoria Bydg. will play against bottom-ranked AZS PP (#14) in Poznan in the next round. GKS Tychy will play at home against Rosa II Radom (#7) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
