Ninth-ranked Nowa Sol (3-7) made lots of trouble for AZS AWF K-ce (10-0) on Wednesday. The visitors from Katowice managed to secure only three-point victory 84-81. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 84-81. The best player for the winners was Lukasz Grzegorzewski (190-84) who scored 22 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Guard Lukasz Szczypka (185-80) chipped in 14 points and 7 assists. Four AZS AWF K-ce players scored in double figures. Marcin Chodkiewicz (200-82, agency: Promotex) produced 23 points and 9 rebounds and Marek Zywert (187-96) added 13 points, 5 assists and 5 steals respectively for the hosts. AZS AWF K-ce are looking forward to face Suchy Las (#7) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Nowa Sol will play against Polonia Bytom and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
