There was no surprise in Ciudad Victoria where 12th ranked Correcaminos (11-29) were defeated by second ranked Pioneros (31-9) 95-84. American power forward Justin Keenan (202-88, college: Ferris St.) notched 22 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and the former international swingman Romel Beck (201-82, college: UNLV, agency: Interperformances) supported him with 17 points. Pioneros' coach Manuel Cintron used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 28 points by American forward Greg Smith (198, college: Colorado St., agency: Interperformances) did not help to save the game for Correcaminos. Power forward Jose Farrera (205-85) added 16 points. Five Correcaminos players scored in double figures. Pioneros have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 31-9 record behind leader Halc.Rojos. Correcaminos lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth place with 29 games lost.
