Regular Season Round 18: FSU - Breidablik 112-88
Date: February 26, 2015
There was no surprise in Selfoss where 6th ranked Breidablik (5-12) was crushed by third ranked FSU (12-5) 112-88. They made 19-of-24 charity shots (79.2 percent) during the game. FSU forced 20 Breidablik turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Breidablik's players. Breidablik was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American forward Collin Pryor (198, college: Northern St., agency: Mansfield and Associates) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Hlynur Hreinsson (174-92) contributed with 19 points for the winners. American Jerry Hollis (198-87, college: Johnson C. Smith, agency: Sherman International) replied with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Runar Ingi Erlingsson (187-89) added 19 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) in the effort for Breidablik. Five FSU and four Breidablik players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. FSU moved-up to second place. Breidablik at the other side keeps the sixth position with 12 games lost. FSU will play against league's leader Hottur in Egilsstadir in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Breidablik will play at home against KFI (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
