An interesting game for Guantanamo (18-6) which hosted in second-best Capitalinas (19-7). Third ranked Guantanamo managed to get a 11-point victory 78-67. The game without a history. Guantanamo led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Guantanamo had a 35-15 advantage in offensive rebounds. 24 personal fouls committed by Capitalinas helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for the former international swingman Islen Carbonell (181-87) who led her team to a victory with 24 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. International center Clenia Noblet (190-87) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Guantanamo's coach Osmel Planas used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. International Suchitel Avila (184-82) answered with 15 points and the former international Lisdeyvis Martinez (175-89) added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Capitalinas. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Guantanamo have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain third place with 18-6 record having eight points less than leader Pinar del Rio. Capitalinas at the other side keep the second position with seven games lost. Guantanamo are again looking forward to face league's second-placed Capitalinas in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Capitalinas will have a break next round.
