Regular Season Round 27: Guantanamo - Capitalinos 57-76

LSB top team - Capitalinos (26-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eighth ranked Guantanamo (3-23) 76-57. The game was mostly controlled by Capitalinos. Guantanamo was better in fourth quarter 14-8. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a quality performance for international center Jasiel Rivero (204-93) who led the winners and scored 12 points and 6 steals. Forward Angel Rey Alvarez (190-90) accounted for 10 points for the winning side. The former international swingman Yoannis Soria (195-86) came up with 14 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and guard Daniel Duporte (185-86) added 10 points and 4 steals respectively for Guantanamo in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the twenty sixth consecutive win for Capitalinos. They maintain first place with 26-0 record. Guantanamo lost their fifth game in a row. They stay dead last with 23 lost games. Capitalinos will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Guantanamo will play again against the league's leader Capitalinos (#1) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
