Regular Season Round 25: Limeira - Basquete Cearense 89-84

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Winner/Limeira (21-4) beat at home 14th ranked SKY/Basquete (6-18) 89-84 on Friday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 3 points after three quarters before their 25-17 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Winner/Limeira made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a very good performance for American guard David Jackson (195-82, college: Penn St.) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 5 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!). The former international power forward de Souza Ferreira (208-88) contributed with 15 points for the winners. Five Winner/Limeira players scored in double figures. Paraguayan center Guillermo Araujo (204-82) answered with 18 points and 9 rebounds and Fernando Fischer (190-81) added 15 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for SKY/Basquete. Winner/Limeira maintains second place with 21-4 record behind leader Bauru. Loser SKY/Basquete keeps the fourteenth position with 18 games lost. Winner/Limeira will face Rio Claro (#15) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. SKY/Basquete will play against Brasilia and hope to win that game.
