Regular Season Round 24: TuRi - Catz 55-73

Leader Catz Lappeenranta delivered the twenty second win on Saturday night. This time they beat 10th ranked TuRi (2-22) 73-55 in Turku. The game was mostly controlled by Catz Lappeenranta. TuRi managed to win fourth quarter 19-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Catz Lappeenranta dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to TuRi's 30. Catz Lappeenranta forced 24 TuRi turnovers. The best player for the winners was American Chandrea Jones (175-87, college: Syracuse, agency: LBM Management) who scored 20 points and 5 rebounds. The other American import swingman Alexandria Anderson (186-86, college: Chattanooga, agency: Regeneracom Sports) chipped in 16 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 7 steals. Four Catz Lappeenranta players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Ida Myllyoja (180-96) who recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and 15 rebounds and forward Sanni Salonen (181-95) added 17 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Catz Lappeenranta have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 22-2 record. TuRi lost twentieth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 22 lost games. Catz Lappeenranta are looking forward to face HyPo (#5) in Hyvinkaa in the next round. TuRi will play on the road against Peli-Karhut (#4) in Kotka and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
