Regular Season Round 19: Killester - UL Eagles 69-77

The game between third ranked Killester (11-6) and ninth ranked UL Eagles (5-11) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Killester was defeated by UL Eagles in a tough game in Dublin 69-77. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Killester. UL Eagles forced 20 Killester turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international point guard Scott Kinevane (175-87) who helped to win the game recording 16 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Guard Neil Campbell (193-83) contributed with 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. UL Eagles' coach Paul Kelleher used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Naturalized American forward Jermaine Turner (195-74, college: Dowling) answered with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 14 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and American forward Patrick Sullivan (201, college: Hamilton) added 18 points in the effort for Killester. UL Eagles moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Belfast Star. Defending champion Killester keeps the third position with six games lost. UL Eagles is looking forward to face league's leader UCC Demons in Cork in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Killester's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Dublin to the arena Templeogue.
