Very predictable result in Uppsala where third ranked Sallen (15-5) smashed 10th ranked Akropol (4-16) 95-56. The game was mostly controlled by Sallen. Akropol was better in fourth quarter 24-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 16-of-19 charity shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Sallen outrebounded Akropol 47-27 including 18 on the offensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Serbian Dajana Butulija (176-86, agency: Beo Basket) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists. The former international Kadidja Andersson (183-80, college: Minnesota) contributed with 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Five Sallen players scored in double figures. Coach Bo Eriksson's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Hope Elam (185-89, college: Indiana) replied with 20 points and 9 rebounds and Maria Melkon (-89) added 20 points in the effort for Akropol. Sallen have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 15-5 record having four points less than leader Umea. Akropol lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth place with 16 games lost. Sallen's next round opponent will be Solna Vikings (#11) on the road and are hoping to win another game. Akropol will play against 08 Stockholm and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
