Regular Season Round 24: HyPo - ViVe 73-79

There was a minor upset in Hyvinkaa where 5th ranked HyPo (12-12) was defeated by seventh ranked ViVe (9-15) 79-73 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 43-32 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. ViVe dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to HyPo's 36. ViVe forced 19 HyPo turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Korinne Campbell (182-88, college: W.Virginia, agency: Two Points) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import center Alexandra Stelfox (187) who added 19 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was the former international center Taru Tuukkanen (192-77, college: Xavier, agency: Regeneracom Sports) with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international power forward Laura Saarinen (187-92) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 16 rebounds. Five HyPo players scored in double figures. ViVe moved-up to sixth place. HyPo at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fifth position with 12 games lost. ViVe will meet Pyrinto (#8) in the next round. HyPo will play against the league's leader Catz Lappeenranta and hope to secure a win.
