Regular Season Round 28: Artemisa - Santiago 85-77

The most important game in the last round took place in between second ranked Santiago (18-10) and fourth ranked Artemisa (17-10) on Saturday night. Santiago was defeated by Artemisa in a tough game on the road 77-85. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Santiago won third quarter 24-23. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The former international point guard Osmel Oliva (178-87) fired a double-double by scoring 30 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Joice Daudinot (194-85) chipped in 18 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). International center Javier Justiz (205-92) produced 24 points and 8 rebounds and international forward Esteban Martinez (192-87) added 15 points respectively for lost side. Four Santiago players scored in double figures. Santiago's coach Lazaro Guibot rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Artemisa have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 17-10 record. Santiago lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the third place with ten games lost.
