Regular Season Round 16: C.Adelantados - Estudiantes 57-63

No shocking result in a game in San Cristobal where eighth ranked ASEFA Estudiantes (6-10) won against 10th ranked C.Adelantados (4-12) 63-57 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 10-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 63-57. ASEFA Estudiantes dominated on the defensive end, holding C.Adelantados to just 5 points in second quarter. C.Adelantados was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Maria Conde (184-97) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 5 rebounds and guard Irene Goicoechea (173-94) who added 16 points during the contest. ASEFA Estudiantes' coach Adolfo Gonzalez used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side naturalized Paraguayan guard Claudia Aponte (175-91, agency: Josep and Nicolas) responded with 18 points and American power forward Chenise Miller (182-91, college: Florida Atlantic, agency: Gamble Sports Management) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. ASEFA Estudiantes maintains eighth position in Group B with 6-10 record. Newly promoted C.Adelantados keeps the tenth place with 12 games lost. ASEFA Estudiantes will face higher ranked IF Air Europa (#6) in S'Arenal in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. C.Adelantados will play on the road against Almeria (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
