We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 9th ranked Fukushima (12-25) lost at home to tenth ranked Yokohama BC (9-26) 85-68 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 9 points at the halftime before their 51-25 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Yokohama BC outrebounded Fukushima 40-28 including a 34-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for American guard Warren Niles (196-89, college: ORU, agency: KMG Sports Management) who led his team to a victory with 25 points and 6 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). His fellow American import forward Carl Hall (201-89, college: Wichita St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners. point guard Masaya Karimata (178-88) answered with 20 points, 7 assists and 4 steals and American power forward Edward Morris (205-84, college: Pittsburg St.) added 15 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Fukushima. Four Fukushima players scored in double figures. Yokohama BC maintains tenth place with 9-26 record. Fukushima lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the ninth position with 25 games lost. Yokohama BC will have a break next round.
