Regular Season Round 11: Rustavi - Dinamo Tbilisi 81-91

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Rustavi. First ranked Dinamo Tbilisi faced 4th placed Energy Invest. Guests from Tbilisi (10-1) defeated host Energy Invest (6-5) 91-81. The guests trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 91-81. Dinamo Tbilisi dominated on the defensive end, holding Energy Invest to just 5 points in third quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for American center Garrick Sherman (205-90, college: Notre Dame) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 9 rebounds. International Besik Lezhava (192-86, agency: Octagon Europe) helped adding 17 points and 6 rebounds. Four Dinamo Tbilisi players scored in double figures. International Mikheil Tchotchua (193-87, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with 34 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds and international Akaki Dvalishvili (206-91) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Dinamo Tbilisi have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 10-1 record. Energy Invest lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with five games lost. Dinamo Tbilisi will meet at home league's second-placed Kutaisi in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Energy Invest will play against Batumi and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
