Regular Season Round 20: Centrum - Gimle BBK 63-64

Seventh-ranked Centrum (5-13) gave a tough game to third ranked Gimle BBK (13-5) in Oslo on Saturday. The visitors from Bergen managed to secure only one-point victory 64-63. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 14-11 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Gimle BBK forced 19 Centrum turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Magne Fivelstad (198-89, college: Barry) who helped to win the game recording 7 points and 15 rebounds and Brede Ellingsen who added 18 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. The former international forward Frank Nyborg (197-83) responded with 22 points and the former international forward Miilah Kombat (198-88, college: N.Idaho JC) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Four Centrum players scored in double figures. Centrum's coach Inge Kristiansen rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Gimle BBK have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Asker Aliens. Centrum at the other side keeps the seventh position with 13 games lost. Gimle BBK is looking forward to face Baerum Basket (#4) in Bekkestua in the next round. Centrum will have a break next round.
