Regular Season Round 22: Cholet - Strasbourg 52-67

Date: February 28, 2015
ProA top team - Strasbourg IG (19-3) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat fifteenth ranked Cholet Basket (7-15) 67-52. The guests trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 67-52. Strasbourg IG dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Cholet Basket's 26. Strasbourg IG forced 22 Cholet Basket turnovers. American point guard Louis Campbell (190-79, college: Buffalo) notched 8 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the effort and power forward Bangaly Fofana (213-89) supported him with 13 points (perfect from the field making all six shots). Strasbourg IG's coach Vincent Collet used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 18 points and 5 rebounds by American forward Nick Minnerath (206-88, college: Detroit Mercy) did not help to save the game for Cholet Basket. His fellow American import forward Kevin Jones (206-89, college: W.Virginia) added 2 points and 12 rebounds for lost side. Strasbourg IG have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 19-3 record. Cholet Basket lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth place with 15 games lost. Strasbourg IG will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Cholet Basket will play against JDA Dijon (#4) and hope to secure a win.
