Regular Season Round 18: Kolossos - Apollon Patras 64-63

The most exciting game of round 18 in the A1 took place in Rodou. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 6th ranked Apollon Patras (9-9) to eighth ranked Kolossos (8-10) 64-63 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Apollon Patras. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 18-12 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was Giannoulis Larentzakis (195-93, agency: Octagon Europe) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds. American forward Jamelle Hagins (206-90, college: Delaware) chipped in 15 points. Kolossos' coach Aris Likogiannis used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Toarlyn Fitzpatrick (203-89, college: S.Florida) who recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Kevin Galloway (200-88, college: Texas Southern, agency: LA sports) added 5 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists respectively. Four Apollon Patras players scored in double figures. Kolossos maintains eighth position with 8-10 record. Apollon Patras at the other side dropped to the fifth place with nine games lost. They share the position with AEK Athens and AGOR. Kolossos are looking forward to face Nea Kifisia (#9) in Athens in the next round. Apollon Patras will play at home against AEK Athens (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
