Very expected game when 11th ranked Tokyo Cinq R. (5-30) was smashed on the road by fourth ranked Sendai 89ers (23-14) 106-66 on Saturday. The game without a history. Sendai 89ers led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Tokyo Cinq R.'s 44. Sendai 89ers forced 20 Tokyo Cinq R. turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Sendai 89ers especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Tokyo Cinq R.'s players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Sendai 89ers made 7 blocks. It was a good game for American guard Wendell White (198-84, college: UNLV) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists. His fellow American import guard Kejuan Johnson (193-85, college: Long Beach St., agency: KMG Sports Management) contributed with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 5 rebounds, 12 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Four Sendai 89ers players scored in double figures. American center Will Foster (226-88, college: Gonzaga) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds and Bahamas forward Zane Knowles (208-92, college: Texas A&M-CC, agency: Blacktop Management) added 16 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Tokyo Cinq R.The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sendai 89ers maintains fourth place with 23-14 record, which they share with Niigata Albirex. Loser Tokyo Cinq R. keeps the eleventh position with 30 games lost.
