Regular Season Round 35: Chiba Jets - Aishin SH 61-80

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Chiba. First ranked Aishin Sea Horses faced 4th placed Chiba Jets. Guests from Kariya (29-5) smashed host Chiba Jets (21-14) 80-61. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Chiba Jets. It was a great shooting night for Aishin Sea Horses especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. The best player for the winners was international swingman Kosuke Kanamaru (193-89) who scored 23 points. Swingman Shuhei Kitagawa (185-85) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds. American power forward Rick Rickert (211-83, college: Minnesota) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import guard Paris Horne (191-87, college: St.John's) added 17 points respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Aishin Sea Horses maintains first place with 29-5 record. Chiba Jets at the other side keep the fourth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Toyota Alvark. Aishin Sea Horses will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Chiba Jets will play again at home against the league's leader Aishin Sea Horses (#1) and are hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
