Regular Season Round 39: Fukuoka Rizing - Bambitious Nara 99-94

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 9th ranked Bambitious Nara (10-27) lost on the road to tenth ranked Fukuoka Rizing (9-28) 99-94 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 49-41 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Fukuoka Rizing made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. It was a good game for American forward Josh Peppers (201-85, college: Cent.Florida, agency: Court Side) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Point guard Cohey Aoki (167-80) contributed with 30 points and 4 assists (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) for the winners. American forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists and point guard Tatsuya Suzuki (169-91) added 18 points, 5 rebounds and 12 assists in the effort for Bambitious Nara. Four Fukuoka Rizing and five Bambitious Nara players scored in double figures. Fukuoka Rizing maintains tenth place with 9-28 record. Bambitious Nara lost eighth consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with 27 games lost. Fukuoka Rizing will face again higher ranked Bambitious Nara (#9) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
