Second Stage Round 3: Wisla Krakow - Trefl II Sopot 63-58

The game between closely ranked teams ended with Wisla Krakow's (1-9) home victory over Trefl II Sopot (0-11) 63-58 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Trefl II Sopot won fourth quarter 16-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Wisla Krakow forced 22 Trefl II Sopot turnovers. Strangely Trefl II Sopot outrebounded Wisla Krakow 54-34 including a 26-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Wisla Krakow made 8 blocks. It was a good game for power forward Jakub Zaczek (203-96) who led his team to a victory with 7 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Rafal Zglobicki (196-94) contributed with 11 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Wisla Krakow's coach Lukasz Kasperzec used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Pawel Krefft (188-96) answered with 9 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and Damian Szczepanik (197-97) added 16 points in the effort for Trefl II Sopot. Wisla Krakow will face AZS PGd (#8) in Gdansk in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Trefl II Sopot will play on the road against AZS UMCS in Lublin and hopes to get finally their first victory.
