There was no surprise in Stabia where 6th ranked Biassono (1-4) was crushed by fourth ranked Castellammare (2-1) 64-34 on Saturday. The game without a history. Castellammare led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Biassono to just 6 points in fourth quarter. Castellammare held Biassono to an opponent 20.4 percent shooting from the field compared to 38.6 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Biassono 52-34 including a 38-27 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Bulgarian power forward Diana Voynova (194-88, college: Duquesne) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds. Guard Nadia Calamai (172-86) chipped in 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. point guard Giulia Porro (165-95, agency: SPORTlab Agency) produced 9 points and 8 rebounds and guard Martina Gargantini (181-93) added 9 points respectively for the guests. Castellammare moved-up to third place in A2. Loser Biassono keeps the sixth position with four games lost. Castellammare will face Virtus Cagliari (#6) on the road in the next round.
