Regular Season Round 16: Badajoz - Araski AES 61-74

The most shocking disappointment of round 16 was a home defeat of 7th ranked Badajoz BF (7-9) to eighth ranked Araski AES (8-8) 74-61 in the game for the seventh place. It ended the two-game winning streak of Badajoz BF. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 38-23 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Araski AES dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Badajoz BF's 30. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Itsaso Conde (185-96) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds and center Laura Pardo (186-89) who added 21 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side guard Regina Gomez (173-82, agency: Josep and Nicolas) responded with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and Argentinian power forward Johanna Puchetti (191-87) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Araski AES moved-up to seventh place in Group A. Badajoz BF at the other side dropped to the eighth position with nine games lost. Araski AES are looking forward to face league's leader Maquinaria Ensino in Lugo in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Badajoz BF will play on the road against the league's second-placed GDKO Bizkaia (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
