Regular Season Round 16: Ourense P. - GDKO Bizkaia 60-95

Not a big story in a game when bottom-ranked Pabellon Ourense (0-16) was rolled over at home by second ranked GDKO Bizkaia (14-2) 95-60 on Saturday. The game without a history. GDKO Bizkaia led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Pabellon Ourense's 36. GDKO Bizkaia forced 25 Pabellon Ourense turnovers and outrebounded them 47-25 including a 30-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. GDKO Bizkaia looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Argentinian forward Maria Lineira (180-83) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 30 points, 19 rebounds and 4 assists (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) and center Patricia Valiente (185-84, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who added 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side point guard Noelia Oliva (175-88) responded with 4 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists and forward Miriam Rollan (175-90) scored 14 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. GDKO Bizkaia maintains second position in Group A with 14-2 record behind leader Ensino. Loser Pabellon Ourense still closes the standings with 16 games lost. GDKO Bizkaia will face Badajoz BF (#8) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Pabellon Ourense will play against Real Celta Vigo (#5) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
