Regular Season Round 27: Chanson V-M - JX-Eneos S. 59-76

WJBL top team - JX-Eneos S. (22-3) had no problems winning another game. This time they beat fifth ranked Chanson V-M (16-9) in Shizuoka 76-59. It looked good early as Chanson V-M took a 6-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then JX-Eneos S. had a 23-11 second period charge getting the lead and Chanson V-M was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 59-76. JX-Eneos S. made 19-of-23 charity shots (82.6 percent) during the game, while Chanson V-M only scored two points from the stripe. They outrebounded Chanson V-M 48-33 including 33 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for the former international power forward Ramu Tokashiki (191-91) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds. The former international forward Yuka Mamiya (185-90) helped adding 22 points and 10 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). The best for the losing side was guard Minaho Miyoshi (167-93) with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and center Miyuki Kawamura (183-94) scored 8 points and 6 rebounds. JX-Eneos S. have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 22-3 record. Chanson V-M lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with nine games lost. JX-Eneos S. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Chanson V-M will play again at home against the league's leader JX-Eneos S. (#1) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
