Second Stage Round 8: Helsingborg - Talje 74-67

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Helsingborg. Third ranked Helsingborg faced second-ranked Talje Knights. Host Helsingborg (10-4) defeated guests from Talje (10-3) 74-67. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Talje Knights. It was a key game for the second position in BEHS forts. Talje Knights trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 24-20 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 67-74 at the end of the game. They outrebounded Talje Knights 51-30 including a 34-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Max Johansson (195-92) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 7 rebounds and Lithuanian center Martynas Kuksta (203-89) who added 14 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) during the contest. Helsingborg's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Erik Johansson (194-96) responded with 15 points and Samuel Berkelund (201-97) scored 17 points. Helsingborg have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place in BEHS forts. Loser Talje Knights dropped to the third position with three games lost. They share it with Huddinge. Helsingborg will meet Brahe Basket (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Talje Knights will have a break next round.
