Regular Season Round 39: Takamatsu FA - Okinawa GK 72-87

Date: February 28, 2015
No shocking result in a game when first ranked Okinawa GK (31-6) beat on the road 8th ranked Takamatsu FA (10-27) 87-72 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 87-72. Okinawa GK outrebounded Takamatsu FA 44-32 including a 32-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Okinawa GK made 9 blocks. It was a good game for Trinidad and Tobago power forward Kibwe Trim (208-84, college: Sacred Heart) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds. American guard Draelon Burns (194-85, college: De Paul) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Four Okinawa GK players scored in double figures. American swingman Dexter Lyons (198-81, college: Cent.Florida, agency: I.D.S. Law) answered with 24 points and the other American import swingman Justin Watts (196-90, college: N.Carolina) added 14 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Takamatsu FA. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Okinawa GK maintains first place with 31-6 record, which they share with Hamamatsu P. and Kyoto Hannar. Takamatsu FA lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 27 games lost. Okinawa GK will have a break next round. Takamatsu FA will play again at home against the league's leader Okinawa GK (#1) and hope to win that game.
